BFSA Zoom Recordings

The Nyansapo Kente robing ceremony was started in the summer of 2016 as an initiative to promote retention amongst undergraduate and graduate students of color, and to celebrate their accomplishments. The Kente robing ceremony provides the BSFA community an opportunity to highlight the significance of graduating from The University of Alabama. ​This event was held 12/6/2020


BFSA’s Webinar held on July 27th, 2020 that will featured our friend Dr. Charles Steele Jr., National President of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, as he gave an update and brief address on the national advocacy against systemic racism. He also spoke a few words about our beloved Sen. John Lewis Jr. who passed on July 17th, 2020. Then we were joined by another friend, Dr. Doris Vaughans, PhD, LPC, NCC, Licensed Professional Counselor, as she addressed the impact that Systemic Racism and COVID-19 has on Anxiety, Depression, and our Overall Mental Health.

The Black Faculty and Staff Association of The University of Alabama is currently doing a series of webinars on social justice. This is in direct response of the current racial unrest, advocacy against systemic racism, and advocacy for social justice for African Americans On October 1, 2020 BFSA will welcome both Co-Authors of The Dilemmas of Being an African American Male in the New Millennium (1st and 2nd Editions) Chance W. Lewis, Ph.D. and Pastor Kris Erskine, Th.D. as they address the topic The Plight, Path, and Progression of Black Men. 


The University of Alabama Capstone Minority Information System Society welcomes Mrs. La'Shonda King, M.S.,MIS, SVP, Digital Channels & Production, Administration and Productions Escalation, BBVA as their speaker for the 10/15/2020 General Meeting 6:30pm -7:30pm CST.
