Mission

The mission of the Black Scholars Program is to provide an opportunity for African American and multicultural students who have excelled academically, to develop, prepare and gain entry into the University of Alabama Honors College and other leadership programs at UA. We envision this program to be supplemental, using a pipeline strategy to increase the number of African American Students into these academic and leadership programs

Advisory Board

The Advisory Board will be responsible for selection of 20-25 incoming freshmen and sophomores with a 3.3 GPA to in the program for their preparation to apply to the University of Alabama Honors College Program and/or other leadership development programs in the spring Semester. 

Overview 

The BFSA Black Scholars program will consist of five forums/lectures which will focus on a variety of topics related to networking skills, career development, leadership development skills, and how to navigate successfully through the University.

BFSA Scholars meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, Honors College RM 176.
